Making Chucky a robot takes away the charm

We’ve already seen tons of evil robots / malfunctioning / malevolent AI films.

There was a lot more kookiness in having a child’s doll possessed by an evil human via a magic ritual.

Plus, a huge part of Chucky’s personality came from Brad Dourif’s voice-acting.

Essentially, you could replace Chucky in this new film with any piece of state-of-the-art kid’s technology.

Yep.They missed the point of the original films. The menace of the films wasn't Chucky the doll.It was Dourif's serial killer Charles Lee Ray.It's like doing a Friday the 13th reboot and replacing Jason with a malfunctioning robotic machete.

Hmmm, a malfunctioning, robotic machete? I think Hollywood has their next big franchise
