Seeing it this weekend; take the 10 y.o. or no?
I'm making the rounds of all the Best Picture nominees. My 10 y.o. son went to see 'Midway' with me, where we saw the trailer for '1917.' He was intrigued, and is asking if he can see it. Ordinarily, I wouldn't mind seeing it to 'proof' it and then take him for my 2nd viewing. From reading the imdb parents' guide, it sounds like the R rating is more for the intensity and language than the graphic violence. From those who have seen it, how does the actual, seen violence compare to the opening of Saving Pvt. Ryan? (which I've told him about, but he hasn't seen) Opinions welcome.
