Seeing it this weekend; take the 10 y.o. or no?

A tad traumatising for a ten year old I'd think , though of course that's just my opinion.

I also think it might be too intense for a 10 year old, but it is not nearly as gory as Saving Pvt. Ryan when it comes to yet living people. It does show a lot of dead bodies in sad and horrible conditions.

Really depends on your spawn, personally I grew up with "inappropriate" films a 10yo should not see and I am fine. I will be released from state prison in November 2027. Kidding, I won't ever get out after thinking playing Patrick Bateman is cool. Kidding, I didn't do such thing of course and I'm not in prison... they never caught me after killing these women!

No seriously, it depends on your boy, some kids can handle it - I sure could, but some might struggle with it, have nightmares etc.

The violence isn't that graphic the most graphic parts are with all the dead decomposing bodies all over.

I think most 10 year olds will handle this film so unless he's sensitive I'd take him.

I'd say no, but not for the reason you might think. My mother showed me loads of great movies as a kid, and I very much appreciated the fact that she wasn't just showing me crap made for kids and actually respected me somewhat. But one thing that irks me is that a lot of masterpieces were spoiled for me before I could fully appreciate them. And I think 1917 is a movie your lad just won't get much out of, and he will probably watch it someday anyway on his own accord if he'll be into movies like his pop
