Ok, so in the 2nd last ep the 2 kids get lost in the cave, then about a dozen guys go in after them and get trapped by a rockfall. Then in the last ep there's no payoff at all to this? Are we just supposed to believe they all conveniently became El Cuco chow, or what? And no-one seemed to miss them at all. Weird.
shareIt was a flashback about what happened in the bear cave years ago. Apparently the grief from the starving trapped party woke the outsider or something.

And here was I thinking it was something similar but happening again in the present 🤦♂️

Don't feel alone. I scratched my head, too, but got the "flashback" feeling near the end. Some of that was the way they filmed the rocks falling. until a second viewing i didn't catch that the searchers were walled in, just as Seale described as happening in 1947 (my birth year, BTW).
shareThe clothes they were wearing finally clued me into it being a flashback. I was thinking, 'jeez where do these rubes live that they're dressing like that?' before it clicked. The telephone outside the shack was already a giveaway but my mind didn't click to it.
