Dave Filoni is the real cancer eating away at Disney Star Wars

Forget your Kathleen Kennedy's, forget your Rian Johnson's, forget your Jar Jar Abrams. This guy - the supposed Star Wars "fan" on the inside is the biggest problem.

And he isn't going to go away anytime soon...

Definitely disagree there.

I think The Clone Wars, Rebels and The Mandalorian have been some of the best Star Wars content we’ve had since the original trilogy.

Book of Boba Fett wasn’t up to the standard set by those 3 shows as it didn’t feel like it was a story worth telling but episodes 5 and 6 were excellent at bridging the gap between The Mandalorian season 2 and 3. Filoni only co-wrote and directed one episode though (episode 6) so if you’ve got problems with that show it can hardly be blamed on him.

Also if your complaints are with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series then Dave Filoni isn’t a part of it. He’s not a director, writer or producer on this show.

I’m very much glad Dave Filoni is around along with Jon Favreau making more Star Wars content for Disney + and I’ll keep watching.

I’m still watching Obi-Wan Kenobi but like The Book of Boba Fett I do feel it’s a story that might not have needed telling. I’ve still enjoyed both of these shows better than the entire sequel trilogy though.

Actually I wouldn't disagree with that. Some Clones Wars episodes went a bit absurd (e.g. hated that father / son / daughter cartoon garbage, even although I know it was loved by some) but otherwise some good stuff in there and post season 1 Rebels was good for the most part. Having said that - Clone Wars was pre Disney content.

However I think that's pretty much the problem - It seems to have given Dave Filoni too much carte blanche over live action Star Wars and the direction it's heading in now.

He may not be officially credited over Obi-Wan but he's certainly been involved in discussions, e.g..well known he & Favreau had input into story direction.

Plus I hate the shoe horned cartoon character injections into the live action shows. Cad Bane was awful. Ashoka looks awful beside Luke Skywalker and raises more questions around how many Jedi were about during the OT period and therefore decanons the legitimacy of the prequels / cartoons further.

Also - The Last Jedi. The guy moped about how Abrams did his own thing with TFA but he was much happier working with Rian Johnson as Star Wars' inside man, head of continuity or whatever he was called. He praised Rian Johnson for being more collaborative and taking his opinions onboard!

Therefore not only is he responsible for making the live action shows somehow seem smaller in grandeur than his cartoons, he also ok'd some of the nonsense we saw the DT.

No thanks...
