Decent show, but so far I think Ben's character is written wrong
I get he was in hiding and maybe trying to suppress his powers (but he was constantly trying to talk to Jinn using the force so I dunno whatever). But this is the guy that strutted up to Grievous no problem. He beat Darth Maul. He beat Anakin. He was arguably the best of the Jedi. Yet he's cowering from fights, barely beats up two kidnappers, struggles to keep up with Leia... In the latest episode when he laid down at the checkpoint and had to be saved by the woman posing as an Imperial officer I almost threw my remote. I get he's trying to be low-key and protect Leia, but it's overboard how much they depowered him and turned him into a wimp.
IMO, it would have been much more interesting to have him be saltier and almost angry that he was stuck on the sidelines on Tatooine. He could be festering resentment that his pupil is still killing Jedi (yes, he should have known who Darth Vader was) and that the Empire has turned the galaxy into a fascist state. All his friends and even children are getting slaughtered while he is on the sidelines. The conflict is him trying to cope with his failure, his wanting to fight, and it's all at odds with his mission to protect the twins. He WANTS to take on Vader. He WANTS to be a part of the rebellion and stop all this horror.
As the show progresses Ben comes to grips with the past, and comes to terms with the fact that keeping Leia and Luke safe is the only way, as they are the saviors.
I believe that would have been a more much interesting character arc and I think McGregor would have crushed that role.
