I just hope this isn't going to turn into another police procedural

I never watched that one / don't know what it's about.

I enjoyed the 4400.

What bothers me is that these powers seems to be different every episode.

And also now different for each individual.

I think I enjoyed the second episode a little more than the first, actually.

Here's what I'll say: The show is quite interesting when the story focuses on the central mystery of the plane and the missing time. It is less interesting when it focuses on the interpersonal dynamics and the effect the event has had on everyone's relationships. And it is not interesting at all when it focuses on "solving cases."

Since both episodes have had all three, neither episode has been totally satisfying. But so far at least, there's been enough mystery to keep me interested in seeing what happens next.

The show is playing a precarious game, though. I am into it enough to stick with it . . . for now. But I feel like the show at any moment could make a misstep that sends my interest off a ledge and into the abyss.

Yes, that was what I decided for myself as well.

That's what I am afraid it will be, yes.

I wonder when someone pitched this idea to the network, why on earth did they think that would be an appealing formula to today's discerning public?
