Inquiry about Ep4 (Spoilers)

I didn’t get it either. The husband seemed like a good, generally supportive guy. I guess they needed a payoff for the whole taxidermy setup.

I was more intrigued at how a girl who works at a bank lived in a 10 million dollar home. And to delve deeper - why would she even be working and hanging out with bank tellers?

And the montage of weird faces from Stacy at the end. Almost seemed like an outtake they left in for nothing.

-So did this lotion make these other women youthful-looking also? Did they go through the same crap she did? Or did it only work for Stacey.

I don’t think the lotion “works”. The girl simply had a mental breakdown, became delusional, killed her husband and gain mega confidence, cut her hair, put some make-up and lotion, and blew their minds away.

-What was the deal with all the rubbing and touching each other. Was that symbolic of something?

Obsession about beauty, maybe?

-Stacy's husband was a nerd, but he loved her like she was. Did she kill him cause he wouldn't support her "change", or did the lotion make her do it.

She went nuts. Mental in the head. No more no less.

-Was the Glo man a demon or spirit? If so, I would think her soul is forfeit.

I don’t think it really existed/happened. More of a demonstration of her madness.

This episode felt like it was going to go on forever. Too much time was spent on the build-up. She should've gone through her transformation earlier and spent more time in the episode transformed. There was more story there. Like her relationship with these girls. Discover if that's what she really wanted, or to see if she made a mistake trying to be like those bimbos at the bank. And what about her husband. Surely there's consequences regarding that. She probably has jail time coming. Is being pretty, and in jail gonna be worth it?

100% agree although I still loved it.

They said in the advert for the aloglow, or whatever it is called, that it can have a range of side effects including some pretty severe ones like hallucinations. The product was real, but she was allergic and had had some of those more serious side effects including the hallucinations. There was more said about it at the end of the first advert, but I cannot remember all of the side effects listed.

Aside from that, I think all the other posts cover what was going on. Desperation for social inclusion pushed her hallucinations to focusing on the cream (remember her focusing on the ‘beautiful people’ using that cream even before she used it).

I don’t really know what happened at the end, but I think they were trying to show that she had also become like one of her taxidermy mounts; she got her new skin and transformed into something beautiful (just as her husband described her work). However, she also became hollow inside. Everything her husband said to her at the end was tossed away in favor of social inclusion.

I agree that the episode felt long, but most of the episodes do in my opinion. There is a lot of buildup and tension in them all. Lot 36, for example, had nothing at all until the final bit, but was quite good. Actually, all of the stories I’ve seen (ep. 1-4) have been done quite well with the autopsy (ep. 3) being amazing. They have all been at the same level or better than what I would pay to see in the theater.

It was a bit of a long and disjointed reply, but I hope it added something to the conversation. I think it was a good, but sad episode overall.
