Argentina versus a team of referees playing from Crotia.
At least there goalie isn't wearing a referee's uniform.
shareAt least there goalie isn't wearing a referee's uniform.
shareArgentina embodies everything Americans complain about in soccer-- the whining, the poor sportsmanship, and the constant falling to the ground and writhing in agony any time they're brushed by an opposing player, only to pop back up at full strength moments later once the penalty has been called.
shareI completely agree FB!
It's embarrassing and annoying to watch.
Well, that's half-time and no goals either side.
Thats your problem. Not the fact that the video referees are destroying the game? Are you the shortsightest dumbhead on that planet? It doenst matter at all if thos losers from Argentina are winning or losing. Cause when idiots like thos video referees dotn get the negative feedback they deserve they will continue to destroy further games! And thats way more important then your strange understanding of "whining" south american poeple!
shareAre you the shortsightest dumbhead on that planet?
Nice to see the whiniest squad in the tournament quickly eliminated from contention. 15 quality sides remain.
shareArgentina played horrible. Thats your correct part. But your competence when it comes to soccer equals your amazing movie knowledge :) : The referee and, especialy, the video referee team, avoided 2 penalty strikes for Argentina. There was absolutely no (!) dispute about that cause even nuetral referees at tv studios after the match complained how horrible the video referrees failed (the referee failing isnt much of a surprise anymore, cause most of them are idiots anyway. But thats why there are now video referees).
So you had as always not the sammlst clue about the problem and made it with your horrible racist statements even way worse. Cause now the idiots at the video referees (which already destroyed most matches of the last few days! Also granted by neutral referees!) arent at the focus of the public anymore. As smart as always :) .
Are you sure you're replying to me? I can't entirely decipher what you've written, but I wrote nothing about referees, replays, penalty strikes, or anything else you mention, and I certainly wrote nothing racist. My only point, as you can see if you read what I wrote, is that Argentina's players are whining floppers.
shareSeems like your avbility to read is as limited as getting the board structure here.
And BTW "Argentina embodies everything Americans complain about in soccer-" .... nope, that isnt a racist statement at all :) .
And "and the constant falling to the ground" isnt a defense of a corrupt video referee structure, which destroyed most matches of the second round.
Sorry, mea culpa :) :) :) .
Where does race come into this? I'm calling out the players on Argentina's national team for their style of play, which I find embodies the negative aspects of soccer that the Americans who dislike soccer always bring up as their reason for hating the game. Race has no part in any of this, and I didn't mention anyone's race, or bring it up at all.
As for the video referees, they might be the greatest in the world or utterly corrupt, but how does their existence have anything to do with me disliking it when a player gets brushed by a member of the opposing team and immediately drops to the ground, screaming and writhing as if he's been shot or stabbed, hoping to convince a referee to assess a penalty?
3-0 to Croatia!
What a team they were, Argentina really need to flip their game.
They certainly need to do something, though assuming Iceland doesn't implode that something won't be enough to advance them out of the group stage this time around. They play an ugly style of football, so no complaints here if they don't.
shareThe further in they get the uglier it will be, if they lose this group with a game still in it they'll just be nasty for the sake of it.
shareIf Iceland beats Nigeria, Argentina will go into their match against Nigeria needing to beat them by at least 4 or 5 goals to advance. If that game is winding down, and it's clear Argentina isn't going to win by 4+, it won't be a pretty site.
shareAt this level, they could lose against Nigeria.... They were so mentally weak today... Their capitain Messi and their manager, Sampaoli, both capitulated after the second goal... Croatia's players could sense it...
Messi was moping around, slumped shoulders, head down... The Argentine manager had tears in his eyes during the game at that stage... If you're manager is crying, literally, how can one expect the team to fight back?!
It was pitiful... They should have lost by one or two, but given their capitulation they were lucky it wasn't 4 of 5 nil, which could have happened if it wasn't for the goal post and a yellow card given instead of a red one...
Sampaoli is blaming Messi and other players at the press conference... He is holding back tears and is clearly mentally broken... Game over for these guys, Nigeria might actually beat them...
Modric's goal was a cracker.
