I Know We're Supposed to Suspend Disbelief BUT!

Why didn't Ben contact the police right after when Dillon went missing and his father said he didn't have a son?!

It's such a simple call. Just a wellness check!

All in all though, they did an excellent job with keeping up tension. Didn't expect much at the beginning, but was pleasantly surprised.

What would the police do? If the officer does not know the son, they will not doubt in the words of the grown up. Why would they doubt in his words? He would need proof that there is a kid, the toys were already thrown out, if I remember correctly.

When it comes to a child, if you have two people with different stories, a law enforcement officer would at least do a home inspection.
