How was the platform moving in between levels? There didn’t seem to be a base it was attached to. Are we supposed to assume that they have some kind of anti gravity technology?

On the one hand, the whole thing is like a metaphor for hierarchical society with a kind of socialist message. But other elements were presented pretty realistically within the crazy scenario, so it is kind of weird that there weren't cables or anything for the platform.
Easily done with enough magnets.
