It's just dull..

Not one character in this show has an ounce of charisma. I can't even remember a single one of their names.

I've been watching with my female friend(who is an actual, cool feminist) and even she is like "it's a little on the nose with the racism, sexism crap."

We're only on episode 2 but we need to rewatch it because we both fell asleep. I just want to see them actually play a baseball game! Maybe they can at least get that right.

Nick Offerman should be above this. But even he seems bored.

That's too bad. As it happens, this program is filmed literally right down the street from where I live. It was fun when the crew and actors were here putting the show together. I was kind of hoping the show would be a success so they'd all be here filming again.

I don't think the first two episodes were dull, but as a fan of the movie all I thought was what is this?

After those episodes, it did improve, and I was invested in the rest of the season.

What is your opinion of it now?

reply

I haven't picked it up again yet.

I think you're touching onto something there when you say it's not like the movie. Maybe I'm being too harsh on it because comparing with the movie, it's just not in the same ballpark...

I'll give it another shot though.

Baseball. Yawn. It’s a dying sport. The average age of the baseball fan is 57 years. The sport attracts few younger, demographically-appealing followers—probably because the game is too fucking long to follow. The “American Pastime” is well past its time. Yawn.

I was about to make this exact thread, but no since in starting another one.. This show is extremely boring and kind of wierd actually. It has nothing like the heart the movie had..
