I think the point of the story was that she shouldn't have to conceal it, so no talisman (though I suppose she could get one later)

In the film no one does until one is made for them. Meiln's mother and the other women had new ones made after they were done rescuing Ming.
I suppose it would be a simple matter of performing the ritual again and making a new talisman.
