I thought about buying this movie but then I saw this interview by a danger hair.

AVC: It does seem very inevitable between them. So, you didn’t sit down and go, “I’m going to write a movie about toxic masculinity.” But at what point did you start to recognize that that’s what the story is about in some ways?

RE: When my brother and I got all the way through [the script] the first time, we were like, “Yeah, that’s what’s going on.”

I don't want to be eye-rolling through every scene so could anyone please confirm whether or not it's another one of those 'masculinity bad' movies coming out of Hollywood as of late? I want to have a good time.

No its not.thank god.I think the interviewer just had an agenda and the director was nice enough not to get angry.great movie with no modern day agendas.

I just finished it, and I didn’t get anything about “toxic masculinity” from it.

That’s just dogshit journalism these days. Gotta hit up the agenda a few times during the interview.

It’s basically about two men who go crazy on an island with a lighthouse, and it’s VERY open for interpretation...so you can perceive the film many different ways.

The SJW doing the interview got “toxic masculinity” from watching it, but probably also thinks about “toxic masculinity” while watching Sesame Street.

I just finished it a few minutes ago. The film is weird as hell, but it held my interest, and the performances and atmosphere were awesome, but I’m not sure how I feel about the film overall yet, haha. I definitely didn’t sit there thinking it was some dumb statement on “toxic masculinity“ though.
