Really Disney? One kid has "two Moms"??
Is that really appropriate for a kids show?
shareI agree, they shouldn’t be using a kids show to push their political agenda.
shareWtf does having 2 moms have to do with politics?
shareI watch a show like this to be entertained not for social justice messages which Disney seems hell bent on ramming down our throats
shareHas nothing to do with "social justice" It's a kid with 2 moms. In Kicking & Screaming with Will Ferrell that came out in 2005 there's a player on the team with 2 moms. That was 16 years ago. But somehow you can't stomach this because "derrr its political, argh social justice"
shareEXCELLENT POINT.👍
shareI never saw Kicking and Screaming, and the show is diverting so much attention to the fact that he has two Moms that it’s obvious they are trying to make a statement. Again there is a time and place for everything and there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things.
shareYou would have a point if this show wasn’t “Disney”, but unfortunately this company actively tries to push an agenda in every film and tv show they produce.
Imagine if a conservative Giant put out movies and tv shows that try to push Jesus on its viewers, does that sound like fun to you? How about shoving heterosexual relationships in your face and lecturing women to not be sluts and shut up and get back in the kitchen? Now do you see the issue?
Oh I definitely see the issue. People like you are the issue. There are plenty of movies about Jesus and Christian beliefs. Being gay has nothing to do with beliefs. And if you're saying "Well I don't believe in gay marriage!" Well idgaf. Why does it bother you that much?
"How about shoving heterosexual relationships in your face" Oh the irony.... heterosexual relationships are the norm and seen everywhere. Yet when you see them exist in nearly everything you would never say "This is being shoved in our faces! There's clearly an agenda here!"
"Lecturing" The mere presence of a same-sex couple or same-sex parents is somehow akin to "lecturing" to you? That's like saying a very modest girl being present in a movie is "lecturing not to be a slut"
You really need to check yourself and be more accepting of others. Stop being afraid that this stuff is going to turn you or your kid gay, its ridiculous.
Heterosexual relationships are the norm because they're normal. It's quite clear that the male anatomy was made for the female anatomy. Homosexual relationships are abnormal because they're unnatural.
It doesn't matter that they were "born that way." Psychopaths were also born that way but that doesn't make psychopathy a normal thing. People are born all the time with all sorts of unnatural desires.
I say this as a bisexual person. I recognize that my desire for people of the same sex is unnatural. It's not really difficult to understand this if you can get past the idea of being "born that way" equaling something being normal and natural.
This is the most idiotic comment I've read. The other people have an irrational hatred and sensitivity, but you're just plain dumb.
shareLOL. I will take that as you conceding the point.
Really it says it all that two women grinding their pussies together will never produce a child.
Neither will you jerking off into a sock.
shareWE DON'T NEED MORE CHILDREN...THE WORLD HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH...WE AREN'T ANIMALS...WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EVOLVED PAST PRIME DIRECTIVE:MATE AND PROCREATE.
YOU SEEM VERY NARROW MINDED.
I'm not an atheist is what it comes down to. I don't think our existence is a cosmic accident.
I think there's a design and the design for sexuality can be easily observed.
GOD AND EVOLUTION AREN'T MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE...THIS GOD OF YOURS...WHY DOES HE HE WANT TO OVER-POPULATE THE PLANET TO CRITICAL MASS?
shareMy point wasn't about a command to populate the earth, it was about the natural design for sexuality and unnatural corruptions of that design.
shareLIKE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN HER MOUTH?...NO BABIES COMING FROM THAT CHIEF.
shareI suppose that's a clever enough point, but I'll simply say that it was written once that "a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh."
It was also written that, in humanity's depravity, "their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another."
That pretty much sums it up for me. Man was made for woman and woman for man. But you really don't even need the Bible to figure this out. You just need eyes. Just look at each's parts and the reality of procreation and it becomes pretty obvious how it's all supposed to work.
THAT WAS ALL WRITTEN BY MEN AS GOD DOESN'T USE PENS AND TYPEWRITERS...THUS MAKING IT ALL FALLIBLE.
shareAs someone who was an agnostic for many years, I understand your position. But I've since come to believe that indeed "no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (2 Peter 1:21). That is, God used men to convey His message.
I don't think God's an absentee landlord.
Movies and tv shows need to be well written and tell good stories, sacrificing either just for the sake of being inclusive is ruining the entertainment industry.
When characters are hogging screen time and only exist to check off a “woke” box, this is a problem.
I’m not saying do not use gay characters, I just wish that when they did, that these characters would actually be well written and serve a purpose to the story, not be useless like a prop and gunk up the screen.
He's right, it's definitely political. There's no doubt they threw that shit in there to push an agenda, not because it's normal for two people of the same gender to have a child together.
shareThis debate reminds me of the hilarious Parks and Recreation scene where everybody’s bias and preconceptions wrap their virtue signaling in a pretzel when it comes to the boys vs. girls soccer team dispute

Yes, why not?
shareI watch tv for escapism, not to be confronted by left wing propaganda.
shareHas nothing to do with "left wing propaganda" Its just a kid with two moms. On a show like Friends in 1994 there was a child raised by 2 moms. In 2005 a movie like Kicking & Screaming had one of the soccer players have 2 moms. How is this somehow triggering and repulsive to people in 2021 that they can't even handle seeing it... yikes.
shareAnd Friends engaging in left wing propaganda is why I didn't like it in the 90s. I believe they aired a gay wedding and other leftie propaganda pieces.
sharePropaganda? Man you're dumb.
shareThey have an agenda. Like how ducktails now has gay dads as a student's parents. The producer said "But I’m well aware that the “queer representation through parents and background characters” trope is an issue, and we’ve sort of stumbled backwards into a lot of heteronormative romances in this show due to legacy characters with pre-existing relationships.”
Imagine referring to your characters being straight as "heteronormative"?
Obviously a left winger, gender/gay studies background with an agenda.
I'm not sure why queer representation triggers you. There's nothing wrong with gay people or gay parents. Heteronormative is definitely the world we live in. I think its fantastic for these things to be normalized and to be given representation. The opposite is "only straight is normal" which is incredibly sad that anyone would be so obtuse and think that way. A lot of these studios may be trying to make up for lost time by making more characters like that, which may lead them to being overrepresented or even overdone. A show like Friends was very much ahead of its time. If one leads kids to say "you're a freak with two moms" and the other leads to kids not feeling a need to comment on it at all....I know which side I'm on.
shareOP is a right wing troll
shareTHERE IS A TWO MOM HOUSEHOLD THREE HOUSES DOWN FROM ME...THEY EXIST AND ARE PART OF OUR WORLD...YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY BEING A WHINY LITTLE BITCH LESS.🙂
shareIt's funny how you like to jump into these arguments and give your opinion and try to tell people what's what, but then when they respond you say things like:
"DID YOU INFORM DISNEY THAT YOU ARE THE MAN IN CHARGE OF DECIDING THOSE TIMES,PLACE AND RIGHT AND WRONG WAYS OF DOING THINGS?"
My question naturally is who put YOU into that role?
I AM SELF APPOINTED...HIGH FIVES FOR QUALITY AND BLUNT FORCE FOR SHIT.😎
YOU SEEM OK FOR THE MOST PART....BUT YOU CAN EAT ME ANYWAY.🍆
Yes great point, genius! Shows should definitely include everything in the world that exists, even if it's less than 1% of the population. Why isn't there a couple of little people as parents?! Little people need to be represented, a helluva lot more than some other groups.
shareYes great point, genius! Shows should definitely include everything in the world that exists
Yes can, I love how Disney CAN pick and choose what it more important than others. Nothing political there at all. Gays are normal people like the rest of us. Sure thing. They're just monogamous couples that love to raise other people's children like one big happy family.
shareIF I MADE A MOVIE I CAN ALSO CHOOSE WHO TO INCLUDE...YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR LITTLE PEOPLE FILM...YOU SEEM PASSIONATE ABOUT IT.👍
shareYou must've missed all the work Peter Dinklage has got, huh? Were you offended when he was getting those roles? No you obviously just ignored it. But for some reason same sex couple has you triggered as if the whole show, movie, or even episode is about that.
shareMy daughter had a boy in her class that had two moms in 3rd grade. It’s no big deal these days really.
shareYou should tell the teacher to kick that boy out of school. Don't want the presence of that family to be socially engineering your daughter. XD
Jesus christ. Next thing you know, OP will be saying they shouldn't show recycling bins in films because it's left wing propaganda.
RECYCLING BINS OFFEND ME AS THEY ARE TRADITIONALLY GREEN OR BLUE...NO PINK OR RAINBOW?...SHAMEFUL.
shareI see that the boys and girls also use the same locker room, I would say that was Disney again trying to push transgender propaganda but seeing how that also happened in the original trilogy I’ll let it slide.
shareDid you also notice that the males on this show are portrayed as incompetent morons?
The divorced father who’s a selfish prick who chooses music over his son, the fat goalie who has no ambitions in life but being a lazy slob, the neighbor across the street who can’t skate, Gordon Bombay who is almost homeless and the laughing stock of the world.
Yet the best player on the team is a girl, the moms can rip slap shots faster than grown men.....Disney hates men, this is very clear.
LOL I will never forgive what they did to Gordon Bombay, they turned him into a pathetic man baby so that a younger, more diverse character can come in and show him the way, geez this sounds like another character that Disney recently ruined (cough Jake Skywalker, cough)
