Jessie Plemons & Philip Seymour Hoffman
More and more, Plemons has started to remind me of the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman. Both excellent actors, somewhat similar physiques, and varied film choices (big studio films and indies).
I didn't enjoy this one as much as I'd hoped, but there were a few moments that broke my heart because they illustrated loneliness so well. However, I found Jake's "girlfriend" to be the weakest part of the film. We know that her personality is a figment of Jake's imagination but, even so, her speaking voice is so affected and stilted that it's a chore to listen to.
Food in Films: Those Oreo Brrrs from Tulsey Town looked amazing. Really made me want to stop by the DQ.
