Really, really funny! (Made 2017, btw, not 2019 as stated above)

Absolutely bonkers Japanese horror/comedy mockumentary about a film crew making a zombie movie... which in turn is about a film crew making a zombie movie in which the cast and crew are attacked by real zombies! Some scenes are a bit confusing as to whether they're meant to be 'real' or part of the 'film within the film'; but the whole thing is really entertaining, and at times side-splittingly funny - including an actor who has a secret drink problem, and an actress with a history of descending so far into her roles she's been known to cause serious bodily harm to other actors! 8/10

There we're never real zombies though.

No, that just was the plot of the film within the film.

Not according to every plot AND Review i have.read. Can you show me where it says that?

How about the top of the movie's main page here for a start?

That brief outline is picked up from IMDB where anyone can write those and edit them. If you read an actual plot summary, and pay attention to the movie, you can see that there were never any real zombies.

I know where it came from. And I already said there were no real zombies. They were just in the film within the film.

And you're using a plot summary on Wikipedia as a definitive source??

It begins as a visually flat, mostly by-the-numbers zombie comedy about a low-budget film crew who are menaced by zombies in real time while filming a zombie movie.

a movie about a low-budget zombie horror film that, mid-shoot, is suddenly invaded by real-life zombies

The crew’s fake zombie film then becomes real when zombies attack and the small crew tries to escape from their co-workers who have joined the ranks of the undead.

They’re shooting at an abandoned water plant that once hosted military experiments, and the spooky location is a little too on the nose. Lo and behold, real zombies pop up and chomp their way through cast and technicians. Suddenly, the fake blood turns real.

Before long, though, real zombies end up attacking the cast and crew, leaving the actors (and the surprisingly hell-for-leather makeup artist Nao (Syuhama Harumi)) to fend for themselves.
