Bob Odenkirk worked surprisingly well as an action guy

I didn't expect that to be the case. I figured they'd have to use all kinds of quick cuts and creative editing to make it work, and that he just wouldn't have the right aura surrounding him, but he was surprisingly convincing and moved well in the action scenes. Never in my life would I have thought to cast Bob Odenkirk in a role like this, but it was an inspired choice.

P.S. I never knew that Christopher Lloyd wielding a shotgun was something I needed in my life, but it was.

Definitely. The man is insanely awesome in this.

Christopher Lloyd was such a pleasant surprise, he was loaded, did not know he was in this. So pleased I avoided the trailers and I've yet to watch the any of trailers. Can't remember watching him in an action movie quite like this one. Such an awesome movie.

reply

Bruce Willis vibes.

I found the whole thing really cringey, it was like some guy watched Death Wish and The Incredibles and tried mixing them together.

"cringey"

YOUR POST IS DISQUALIFIED.

the movie gave me douche-chills

lolz

They can make anyone, and I mean anyone into an action hero.

reply

Nah, they tried that shit with Sean Astin and it didn't work.

How did I miss that movie.

reply

LOL. I actually haven't seen it. I watched the trailer a couple of years ago and said, "Okay, no thank you." It didn't even look fun in a shitty way.

But hey, I see now that the movie is available for free on IMDb TV. Maybe it's time to actually watch it.

reply

It looks intense, I'm excited. I think I'll make tonight a movie night. I'll watch this and Tracers with Taylor Lautner.

reply

There's no way that could go wrong.

THE BRUCE CAMPBELL CLASSIC!

reply

YES,YES AND YES...I LOVED THIS ONE...EASILY A TOP TEN FAVORITE OF THE LAST FEW YEARS...ODENKIRK WAS EXCELLENT AND I ALSO HAD NO IDEA THAT CHRISTOPHER LLOYD WIELDING A SHOTGUN WAS SOMETHING I NEEDED IN MY LIFE...BUT DAMN IT...IT WAS ...AND I NEED MORE.

reply

I appreciate your enthusiasm.

I thought the trailers looked good but still went into the film with only modest hopes. It exceeded them.

In a world where so many action movies feel the same and completely derivative, this one had some surprises, went in some interesting directions, and had a vibe all its own.

Reportedly he worked for two years to manage it physically.

reply

...and a year later, Odenkirk had to leave the Better Call Saul set(filming final season) for one-month hospitalization after a "heart incident."

Could this be our first action star to be temporarily felled by a heart attack?

reply

It was a heart attack. Wondering if he got the jab.

reply

Got in shape since his breaking bad days. Good movie.
