Outside of "Seinfeld" and his standup/guest star appearances on television I can't buy Jerry Seinfeld's persona outside of a professional comedian.
If Jerry did small dramatic bits on something like Law & Order, a Woody Allen or even a Tarantino movie then perhaps yes, but he has solidly crafted his image as a comedic icon, nothing more. Besides, he makes tens of millions a year from syndication off of his namesake's show.
No, but Bryan Cranston would have worked.
shareNot sure I agree about Cranston... His image is already too badass thanks to Breaking Bad. Odenkirk, on the other hand, comes across more of a... well, a Nobody. Which is what made him so great for the part. I also believe Bob's sense and style of humor fit perfectly in terms of what the film was aiming for in that department, and would have been less effective with Cranston in that regard as well (despite the fact that Bryan can be very funny in his own right).
shareseinfeld sucks i always have really bad memories of having parents too cheap to buy cable tv and being forced to watch his garbage tv show when nothing else was on tv. i would usually go outside and play with my lame neighbor friend when i was stuck in this situation. man hsi show fucked sucked another show that gives me the same feeling is king of queens. everytime i see that fat basterds face i get filled with rage

sharei tried watching it recently and just get depressed feeling and have to turn it off every time. downloaded every episode ever made just for shits and giggles and couldnt get thru watching more than a couple of them even as an adult
