Would be better without the aliens
In an inversion of the typical expectation for high concept genre films, I was actually enjoying this a fair bit for the first 30 or 40 minutes, before the aliens showed up (that is, before the protagonists realized it). Then it kind of became a mess—and worse, it got boring.
