love toni, But

thought Toni was great in this and for the most part it's a really compelling, suspenseful family drama about grief. But I don't think the ending really worked for it. Felt like a big tonal shift.

You loved Toni, but the big scene you were waiting for didn't make sense because Toni threw the book in the fire?

I get the second part, it turned into a different movie for you...and I can see how you'd feel that way, but at that point, it'd already been well established that we were dealing with the supernatural here...and when it comes to supernatural, there's really no limits, you know?
I'm with you to an extant...the ending "gunned" it down that path and was therefore a bit more unrealistic than the events leading up to that point, but it was in line with the movie as a whole.
I don't think it'd have worked with lesser actors, but these guys sold it for me.
Was a horrifying film with the potential to leave its viewers tormented for days and/or with permanent psychological scars. Was great...and God himself is likely nodding in agreement due to the increased attendance numbers its church-going audience provided.
