It doesn't have the slightest sense of the original story 2/10

It's like the subject is always diversity, there are no fairy tales anymore only preaching. I wonder if they understand that people watch something in order to be entertained, not to be schooled about irrelevant matters. They had to try hard to make it that bad with all that money, I give it 2 for the costumes, some were good. Let it be lost in obscurity and be forgotten forever.

It's almost as if modern writers are hired for reasons other than their ability to write. 🤔

They really need to stop going to Fanfiction.net to find their writers. Only 30% of viewers made it to the end of the season, it was that bad. This honestly has to be the biggest waste of a billion dollars I've ever seen. Amazon may as well have dumped it down a rat hole for the good it did them. The only part that makes me happy is that they took the two idiot writers of the show and had them sit in the backseat as "consultants" after this season was done. Not that it'll motivate me to watch the show at all. But I like it when some people get their just desserts.

I really don't know why film and TV studios now just INSIST on shoving their bullshit into movies and shows. All Amazon had to do here was make something that was faithful to the spirit of Tolkien's work and nearly everyone would've been happy (I will allow for some 5% of radicals who would be unhappy that the show was not "updated for modern audiences"). All they needed to do was look to Peter Jackson's trilogy and see how revered it is to understand what people want.

This was a slam dunk and they still managed to fuck it up even though the way to success was so obvious.

It's because two major investment firms, known as Blackrock and Vanguard, have been working with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to try and force social change. They offered to invest money in various film studios in exchange for following a points system that sounds suspiciously similar to China's social credit system. It's called ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), and basically, the more woke and political your film or tv show is, the higher your score, and the more money these investment firms give you.

Hollywood has also been purging as many older, more conservative people involved in writing, directing, and producing as they can ever since the 2007 writer's strike, causing the quality of our entertainment to go down. It's particularly bad now because you basically have Tinseltown run by three groups of people:

The rich, white, male (sometimes Jewish) guys at the top, who only care about what money their studio/corporation rakes in.

The older liberals from the Boomer and Gen X groups who turned hard-left in recent years, some of which, were little more than kids in adult bodies when it came to maturity.

The younger Gen Y & Gen Z types that have come straight out of college and know nothing about the real world, and were trained to be hard-left from the get-go. Many of them are not talented at all and are terrible at their jobs due to lack of life experience or even leaving the LA basin at all during their lives. Some are in the nepotism dept, being related to famous people or well-connected folks in the 'biz who helped them get jobs when they weren't normally qualified for those jobs.

All of them have been tricked into believing entertainment should reflect the wants and desires of idiots on social media and the idiots living in the LA basin (as well as SF) instead of what most of America wants. They truly do not understand, nor do they want to understand why people like stories with white, male, straight heroes, feminine women, heterosexual love, or even a story that makes sense and was fine the way it was when it was written in the past.

Small wonder the indie film industry has started to grow, no thanks to the stupid rules Hollyweird has imposed on everyone within their sphere.
