Questions:

1. What was the overall mission Ray, Zoey and the guy were on? I got a hint they were transporting drugs, but I'd thought Ray was anti-drug... maybe just for his daughter?

2. What part did Zo play in the mission? She seems to know the scruffy leader guy, but no romance there.

3. Did Ray have a prior relationship with the guy?

4. Is the bearded guy the same one who leads the bad guys at the very end of Ep. 9? The one who says "Fuck you" to Ray?

5. Why is he trying to kill Ray?

I sure felt sad about Ray's mate.

That immolation was impressive weapons improvisation by Ray. The way he looked up off-camera I knew he had found something "beauty."

Anyone else find themselves thinking with an Aussie accent for a few hours after watching?

1. He said, when they met the first time, that he'd do anything if the money is right. The drugs were in the spare tires.
2. She was the second driver because the road is long and they could switch behind the wheel. Also, she is there because couples are less suspicious.
3. Freddy introduced them, but no prior relationship.
4. Yes
5. Because he was an asshole, who thought he had respect by default because he had money and Ray made him feel like the fuck-up that he was.

As to #5, I think it was a contract killing based on a prior event. Maybe the one where Ray killed the one guy he made dig his own grave, or the one where the guy escaped into the woods (might be the same guy). In any case it was arranged or enabled by Freddie setting up Ray, so there's a motive why Freddie didn't tip-off Ray.

In any case, so many great details and fine characters, even the detestable ones.
