Is it realistic to believe Pacino as a Jewish person?

I ask with respect.

reply

He played a Cuban didn’t he?

reply

Cuban can be white, native, mixed, just like North Americans.

reply

And a Puerto Rican in “Carlito’s Way”

reply

He has a jew looking nose.

reply

It's a roman nose.

reply

Of course it is. Do you somehow think that he doesn't "look Jewish"??? Corollary: do you think there is a "Jewish" look? (Hint: there isn't.)
If you're wondering if he can "act" Jewish (again. . .corollary: there's a "Jewish" set of mannerisms/rhythms/whatever), then that's a non-issue as well, if you stop to think about it. Even if such a thing were true (Hint: it isn't), it's called "acting." And he's pretty good at it.

reply

Jews absolutely have a "look". In fact there are several of them. One being the hasidic jew with the goofy sideburns.

reply

LMAO...BLACK PEOPLE HAVE A LOOK,AFROS..LATINOS HAVE A LOOK,SOMBREROS...YOU HAVE MISSED THE POINT ENTIRELY.

reply

Is it realistic to believe that Amanda Seyfried and Jon Stewart are bumping fuzzies?

Just kidding, I don't know if they are in an intimate relationship or not.

reply

I am happy that he's ACTING and doing a voice, because he always seems to play himself.

reply

That's your poor opinion.

reply

You bring up an interesting question, actually. Christian Bale, for instance, always just becomes whatever character he is playing, but I totally didn't buy him as a Jew in American Hustle , and I know from discussions with people that I wasn't the only one.

I mean, who'd have thunk it - THAT was the role that defeated him? Playing a Jew? 🤓

Pacino is passable thus far (one episode into the show), although I do wonder why they didn't get Dustin Hoffman instead.

reply

Since he hasn't played anyone but Al Pacino since SOAW, I would say "No".

reply

He is playing the character very well. Much better than Hoffa.

reply

I am watching the first episode and I can't understand a damn thing he's saying.

reply

LMAO yeah I had the same problem.

reply

I watch everything with subtitles. I have a bit of OCD about missing anything, can't miss a single word, and there is usually a lot of mumbling and various accents and whatnot, so I have the subtitles always on just in case.

reply

I do that occasionally.

reply

I multitask, so I listen more than watch, unless the show is riveting but that's a good idea.
