I recall Ratched talking to the surviving priest in the first episode but I guess I was not paying attention. So I am curious what she said to him that made him call her, and not police, to give a statement about the murders.

Can anyone please fill me in?

Since you weren't paying attention, why not simply go back and watch the scene.

She (deceptively) shared her Catholic faith convictions with him and affirmed his importance and goodness.
