It had potential (spoilers)
This could have been a fascinating backstory to Nurse Ratched, but it's so full of plot holes (for example, the series is set in 1947. Lethal injection was first used in 1977.) and cartoonish characters (the governor interrupts an execution that is being broadcast on radio so he can throw the switch himself?) that it was hard to take seriously. I don't see how it can be salvaged in a second season.
