In 2019 We had the Sequal to 2017's IT. But unlike that film IT: Chapter 2 was not as well received. But why not, What was wrong?

Wasn't adult Henry Bowers "wasted" in the Miniseries as well as the book? Pennywise may have helped him escape, but it was really up to Henry afterwards to finish off the Losers by himself, and he didn't get very far at all, only wounding one before another killed him. IT Chapter 2 is true to the story, and it didn't have something stupid in the Miniseries like a dog in a clown suit killing off the guard. No, Henry killed the guard all by himself.

We agree on that at least, no third movie with an even further backstory focusing on Pennywise only. It would diminish the other two.
My final thoughts:
I loved both movies, although I will agree that Chapter 2 is not as good as the first one, but that's a problem with the two halves of the Miniseries as well, and, I dare to say, the book as well. Performances were fine, casting was fine, bit more CGI in Chapter 2 this time, but I preferred the final Pennywise look to that dumb hand-animated spider.
In general, I love Muschietti's IT duology much more than the Miniseries. Even though I was a fan of the latter for a long time, it has been supplanted by these movies, the first MOVIE adaptation of the story.
