S4: Stupid question maybe, how can Joe live across the hall from Malcolm and still see his house through the window

I kept replaying the drone shot of the building where Joe and Malcolm live, but I couldn't figure out how that's possible. I'm also drunk and I might have missed a clue.

I caught they're in the same building, too. Maybe the building looks like this "∐"?

I thought of that shape, but the view opposite Joe's appartment comprises of at least two windows, I don't think the hallway's width will account for all of it.

I was wondering the exact same.

Maybe they have a huge penthouse, they are more than rich after all.

But that leads me to the next question:

how does he afford the rent for that place??

Actually, how does he afford his lifestyle when all he had were low paid jobs ...
