So they're done?

I know they're probably not, but I recall an interview at the outset of season 2 where they envisioned a 5-season story

And THIS story seems pretty much done. Johnny's ready to be a proper father, he's reconciled with his son and gotten his step-son to do so as well.

Daniel's got his family back on his side and has reconciled with Chozen and Barnes

They beat Silver.

Kreese is free, but he's a fugitive (it's a crime to beat up guards and escape even if you were wrongly convicted) and, more importantly, he's been disavowed by Johnny, his surrogate son, and has cut loose Tory, his surrogate granddaughter.

I'd hate to see them have to undo any or all of that just to squeeze out more seasons

They're already planning season 6.

Where did you read that?

I'm done. This show pretty much wrapped everything up for me. As much as I enjoyed season 5, it was a little shaky, the cracks are starting to show for sure.

I mean, there's loose story threads like Miguel and his dad and what not. Plenty of potential storylines with the kids. But "Cobra Kai" dojo related ones? I don't see it.

I can't wait for the big reveal that Jessica was working with Silver this entire time. I expect her and Amanda to go at it

You'll be waiting a long time because THAT isn't going to happen.

reply

You keep saying that but Chris822cats and cruisin109 both have made solid arguments otherwise. We will see next season

reply

No, they really haven't and yes we will see.

A long time ago

They still have that tournament. That will be the season where Cobra Kai is defeated for good.

There is enough material for another season if they choose to explore 'The Next Karate Kid' - Miyagi's second student, the Alpha Elite fraternity, the Zen monastery, Col. Paul Dugan, etc.

But I agree that 'Cobra Kai' shouldn't go on forever - the main characters have already been totally explored, particularly Johnny and Daniel.
