I just happened to catch something on You Tube - apparently the Jessica Andrews character has returned. I knew the Mike Barnes character was coming back - I didn't know about Jessica. Anyway, I'm not a "Cobra Kai" fan so I was hoping, because I am curious, if someone could let me know why these two characters from "Karate Kid 3" are back in Daniel's life. Thanks in advance.

shareAmanda, Daniels wife, is Jessica's cousin. Its how Amanda and Daniel met. Jessica is there is get Amanda to understand how serious the issue between Daniel and Silver really is, to understand the emotional and physical abuse Daniel suffered at the hands of that man. (Silver's turn in this series really shows how much potential his character could have had in KK3 if they toned him down a little). Barnes is for the most part wasted in this series, he is a direct connection to Silver and the thought was Silver might reach out to him, but that was not the case. Both characters carry on the tradition of cameo or short run appearances from prior characters from the primary KK films.

She's Daniels wife and is originally from Ohio (where Jessica is from) and is Jessicas cousin. This was only revealed in season 5. She decided to move to LA so Jessica put her in touch with Daniel is the back story.
Barnes is in it because Daniel believed Silver would contact him to reignite the past so Daniel seeks him out to prevent this.

shareNope. Not going to happen. The best time to reveal that she was working for Silver was at the 85' All Valley just before the final match against Barnes. This would have been the ultimate mind fuck for Daniel. It may have worked, but only nearly half as well, if this was revealed in season 5 of Cobra Kai. It wasn't. The actress herself has always maintained that it was never the case. Not something you would keep to yourself for 35+ years.
Cruisin109 is full of hot air and people like you just encourage this clown.
Maybe they didn't think of it when they made KK3. The new writers here could write this in for season 6. If cruisin109 thinks this could happen, we all should listen. He seems to know a lot about Cobra Kai

shareJessica was used well I thought. She gave Daniel's wife the fill in on what Silver is really like after he basically sabotaged their marriage and caused her to take the kids and run off.
I am not a big fan of the films after the first one so it did take me a moment to realize she was tied to the films and then they did the flashbacks anyway.
Keep in mind we the viewers didn't actually know until this season that Daniel's wife is Jessica's cousin and that Jessica had basically set them up.
The first four seasons didn't say anything about how Daniel met his wife...we just knew they had been married awhile is all.
I was rooting *soooo* hard for Barnes to kick Daniel’s ass.
But then again, I root for *everyone* to kick Daniel’s ass…
