Terry Silver
He was by far the best villain of this series. Wonder how much $ it’ll take to get Thomas Ian Griffith to get back into acting.

shareDid they actually call Terry Silver by name at any point?
Maybe I just missed it but I didn't think they had. Really thought when he was thanking Kreese at the end, Kreese was going to reply "No problem... Terry" just to rubber stamp it definitely being him. But it never happened.
Hopefully not playing on ambiguity as they're not sure if he'll come back.
I think it was the scene where they were captured that someone referred to him as "Silver".
EDIT: Season 3 Episode 6 at around 26m12s: "Shut your GD mouth, Silver!".
Good spot, thanks!
I wonder why Kreese never actually called him Terry then - that would have made that final jungle scene when he said "any time you need me, for life" or whatever all the sweeter in terms of referencing KK3.
Surely he must come back!
Silver was way to young to be a Vietnam veteran in Karate Kid 3. His motivation was so ridiculous. "I'm a millionaire and I'm investing my precious time torturing an awkward teenager because my war buddy asked me to".
That's the one character and story they didn't need to bring back. I can't believe they are seriously trying to legitimize this garbage.
Will they get Hillary Swank in season 5?
Pfft youre in the itsy bitsy teenie tiny minority of people who dont want Silver to come back lol. Im really hoing they make him a regular. I CANT WAIT!...okay well I actually have no choice but to wait lol.
shareI hope they bring Silver back too (he was a great character), but I also thought why was he so passionate to destroy a teenager just to make his friend happy. It was very comical at times, the way he laughed loudly with Kreese. 2 grown men laughing at a teenage boy. lol :-)
shareWell they are the 2 loons who based their life philisophy on their self coined way of the fist. Then they manifested this philosophy through a snake lol.
shareThey got two things in their favor now:
1) They got Elizabeth Shue to do two episodes, and possibly more next season. If she's not to big of a star to come back, then Thomas Ian Griffith definitely isn't.
2) They got a whole lot of Netflix money to throw at him now.
(Spoilers) It’s interesting, because they kinda played it up like the guy with the ponytail in the Nam scenes would obviously be Terry Silver...but then they go and kill him off, leaving the clean-cut guy to apparently be Silver. The ponytail guy even called him Johnny in a similar way as Silver does in KK3. I thought for sure it was him.
shareYeah, that was a good bit of misdirection that. I think that's why I missed Silver being named (was asking about that further up the thread) as the guy I thought was Silver had just been shot!
shareYeah, the bunched up ponytail was a total bit of momentary misdirection and he looked more like a young Thomas Ian Griffith. It was like they didn't know who was going to be young Terry Silver before they filmed that scene.
shareI thought it might be Silver as well. if you watch again youll notice that the ponytail guy is noticeably shorter than Kreese. Just a good ole fashion fake out lol.

Thomas Ian Griffith participated in one of those Josh Gad Reunion zoom calls with the casts of the KK films plus Cobra Kai cast back in December (it’s on youtube and it’s pretty great). They all seemed to be a tight-knit group, so you never know.
Heck, if they can get Elizabeth Shue back....they can pull this off. (BTW....my fear is, the return appearance of Ali may be when this awesome show/series hit its apex. How do you top that? I’m worried anything after that episode will be a gradual decline from the mountain top. But I hope I’m wrong).
Thanks for mentioning that zoom thing - had a watch and (Amy Schumer aside!) was good fun!
He didn't really get asked / say much which was a bit of a shame but overall well worth a view. Especially that ending 😂
I have complete faith in these stoner karate kid nerd writers lol.
shareThe return of Chozen was more of the peak to me than the return of Ali. Those were two really good episodes back in Japan.
shareit's not that he's too big a star. He claims to have retired from acting. He prefers to work behind the scenes now.
shareI agree. I did not see this thread earlier, or I would not have opened a separate Terry Silver thread. No one can pull off the Terry Silver role but Thomas Ian Griffith, so I hope they can get him, and not use another actor.
shareI have no doubts if they have Terry Silver in the script then Thomas Ian Griffith will be back, same as Sean Kanan will be back as Mike Barnes.
This is not about money (that's the cherry on top) but if this was a shit return to the series then no one would have come back (Zabka, Macchio, Kove or Shue), but this is a too good an opportunity to miss as all 3 seasons have been good to great, so everyone will want to be involved and even Hilary Swank if they chose to have her back.
Hopefully they tell Hilary Swank to fuck off! We got work to do lol.
shareIf Thomas Ian Griffith doesn't want to come back then I see no reason why they should bring back Terry Silver. The series has been good about bringing back the original actor they even got the actress who played the little girl whose life Daniel saved in KK2 to reprise her role.
Now how do you know if that girl was really the same girl as the one shown in Karate Kid 2? Its like 40 years later. They could just as easily hire another Asian actress with long black hair
shareIt's the same actress.
shareTraci Toguchi - was in Karate kid 2 and in Cobra Kai.

Its the same person.
So far only person who has been recast with different actor/actress is Ali's mother.
