How did this get passed by the editors
When Ali sees Daniel for the first time at the Christmas party, she says "Daniel with an L". Its Daniel with a D. So not only did the actor screw up the letter but it got looked over by the show editor.

shareIn Karate Kid during the gym class crap while he is hitting the soccer ball after his brutal beating at the beach, Ali introduces herself as ALI with an I, then Daniel says his name is Daniel with and L, its due to daniel could be danielle and Ali could be Allie, get it?
shareThank you
shareDid you really need that explained to you millsey
shareI was born in 1998. I didn't recall that line in the original movie from 1984
shareI didn’t recall that line either and I understood what she meant.
shareYou don't have to brag about being smarter than me
shareDon't worry Millsey72, he isn't :)
I am sure you are not the only one to have missed that and it says nothing about how smart you are. Coming here to post "I didn’t recall that line either and I understood what she meant." only proves how much more idiotic "Nicko's Nose" is :)
Yeah I apologize, it was mean.
shareHaha but it's fun to do.
Even *I* remember that line, and I'm senile.
Well, since we are on the subject, it's "get past", not "passed".
I disagree
share
It's not something you can disagree with - that's the correct expression.
I just asked my college professor about this since he knows everything. You were correct
shareI hope you get passed in his class, but I'm a little concerned about that if you are unfamiliar with such a common phrase. If not, I'm sure you will get past the disappointment and come at it again next semester with renewed vigor.
My teaching lesson for the day.
I'm one of his best students
shareGet passed is correct here. It could be "get past the editors" or "get passed by the editors" but "get past by the editors" is not standard English.
share
"Get passed by" is extremely poor wording. (I would even say it's not standard English either.)
OP should have just written "how did this get past the editors".
They say two different things.
It got passed by the editors if the editors gave it a pass as in an upvote.
It got past the editors if it passed them by. "Past by" does not work in that context.
So it's either passed by the editors, or past the editors, but they mean different things.
You are very pedantic, except that the OP obviously didn't mean the former.
I don't see how it's pedantic to correct you when you went out of your way to falsely correct someone else.
You should just take it as a learning experience and move on.
There is something to be said for seeing the context.
No learning for me here since you are completely in the wrong. [shrug]
Nor did I even go out of my way to do anything - if anything, it was the OP who went out of his /her way to accuse the show of some error. And it is obvious to everyone except you.
You picked the wrong side of this molehill to die on. Now kindly go pester somebody else.
You are only willing to say I am wrong, but you will never attempt to prove it, because you know I'm right grammatically, and you don't like being wrong.
Sorry, but facts don't care about your feelings.
Okay, now I see that you are just stupid, so never mind.
I'm a horror reporter, it's passed not past, dummies.

You mean to tell me you have an actual degree in writing and you don't even know this?.. Well, that's disheartening.
Yes I have a Master's degree. You would be mistaken as an orphan on crack if you used Past vs Passed to get passed an exam. You talking past sense. This is getting passed a scenario. You understand, Shirley? You remind me of a Shirley.
"Get past someone" is a phrase. Are you really this dense? 🙄
What a pitiful state of education it must be when someone who claims to be a writer doesn't even know basic English!
Passed, not past. You must be a crack baby. How many grades did you finish? Oh wait! you're still in 3rd grade. "In the past i used to urine on squirts like you" "I ran passed Exatera's trailer house this morning" Let me know if i can teach you more English.
share
Whoa, you can't even read!
Alrighty then. 😳
>Yes I have a Master's degree in writing.
I beg to disagree. Your post history shows some awful writing. It's not bad enough to be incomprehensible or nonsensical, but it's not great at all.
Example 1:
And why oh why did Aj takes on Elias again? THey run out of other Wrestlers who AJ can face? Seriously, Drop the title from Drew, give it to Aj. Have AJ get a new stable with Samoa Joe. Tired of these boring storylines. Roman is getting boring as well
Retribution = boring
All wrestlers = very plain and boring.
AEW has more action but most of their moves they use in ring look like finishers. How many kicks to the heads, sweet chin music do all Wrestlers have to use?
Example 2, a horror movie synopsis:
The premise of the film, a young teen, Michael Myers, loses it and kills two boys on the school bus on Halloween on the way to school who is wearing the trade mark costume is on the loose while deputies and a Dr who he has been counseling him is on the pursuit. Michael ends up at a Halloween theme horror event at an old abandon Hospital where he terrorizes a group of young teens.
What I know, the beginning has a one on one with him and a female Dr and it looks like he has been seeing her for years.
He commits a murder and gets away with cops and his Dr in pursuit to find him.
He terrorizes a group who puts on a Halloween horror theme at an old abandon Hospital where he encounters a new scream queen heroine.
No mention of Sam Loomis or original characters.
What does my posts in other movies have anything to do with Daniel San?
>Yes I have a Master's degree in writing.
"Michael Myers, loses it and kills two boys on the school bus on Halloween on the way to school who is wearing the trade mark costume is on the loose while deputies and a Dr who he has been counseling him is on the pursuit."
How many times do you use "ON" in one sentence?
Not to mention other things that make this piss poor writing.
Like I said, not quite nonsensical, but almost.
Don't be jealous my dear boy since I am a Horror Reporter and all. Thanks for not letting me drift away from your memory.
It's passed, not past
shareThis is all confusing now especially since the original post seems to have been edited so I don't know what the full sentence was. Either of these would be correct:
How did this get past the editor?
or
How did this get passed by the editor? (How did this get approved by the editor would probably be more commonly used in this case)
Either way this post doesn't get a passing grade.
shareI bet you say "casted" as well
shareI presume you've not watched or remembered the first Karate Kid movie as to why that is said.
shareYou are not much of a karate kid fan are you?? Lmao....maybe you should take more advice from your professor....hahahahahaha...😂
shareI just parts of both Karate Kid movies when on TV in bits. Never sat thru to watch beginning to end. I do find all the scenes with Mr Myagi very offensive. The way he speaks in the movies with his bad english style. Its very offensive
share😂😂😂 offensive to who??? Lmao
shareWell thats just it. For racists like yourself, its perfectly fine. For the rest of us, its highly offensive
shareHahahaha....you are listening to your moron professor again. Tell him I said hes a fat idiot.
Mr. Myagi spoke with accent you moron. Stop being a uninformed sensitive prick and realize this.
You dont digest material very well do you??? Your opening post proves that.😂
Now you did it. Look our class spent a whole week on this subject and my professor proved this to us all. How they portrayed Myagi was very offensive. Another example shown to us was that old western TV show called The Lone Ranger. They had this indian who every time he spoke to his white master, spoke in a very offensive uneducated manner. Now much progress has been made since that time however it is still cringe worthy every time they have a Myagi flash back during this show when he speaks. As a student who openly apologized for my white privilege, I feel so much better about this subject now
share😂😂😂😂😂.....I will not apologize to anyone for my "privilege " I'm assuming you are generation z or whatever the hell it's called now. You need to get your head out of your butt and stop being so sensitive. Myagi is not offensive and you are too sensitive. Now a case could be used for Tonto.....
Your professor is still a Moron...
You are so offended at the portrayal of Miyagi you went ahead and called Tonto an “Indian” when the woke terminology would be “Native American”.
I must admit, I can’t quite tell if you’re an idiot or a troll.
Yet here you are, continuing to digest a series steeped in what you claim to be offensive.
Defiantly not offensive, all this made me laugh tho 😂😂
shareHe's an old guy from Okinawa you brainlet. Your bad English however IS very offensive.
shareNo excuse. Its a dishonor to the Japanese Americans
shareAhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hahahahahahahahahahaha...
shareRacism is not a laughing matter you racist!
shareYou expect someone who lived in Japan most of their life to speak perfect English. You're the racist one. You hate anyone who has an accent. How disgusting
shareThe actor was born in California and spent all his life here in America. His English was perfect. He was not allowed to speak good English in these movies. Thats racist
shareThe character was from Japan. Why do you hate Japanese people? How disgusting and racist of you
shareNo, no, no! I am not the racist one. This was a bad stereotype here depicting Mr Myagi to speak like that, all because hes Japanese. I know the films are all of the 80s, which was a time when we were more racist than now but still. Thats why my college professor gets unhappy with me when he hears I was watching 80s movies
shareYou're absolutely racist. You expect someone from Japan to speak perfect English. Thats awful. You're the guy that screams at people who are speaking another language to either speak English or get out. And your professor sounds like a racist asshole too.
shareHey! Why is no one saying anything about "got looked over by the show editor" instead of "got overlooked by the show editor".
BURN THE WITCH!
Racial justice will always take precedent over correct grammar
shareIn a world of the blind, the racist man is...pretty bummed out.
Since he cant see what race someone is, he doesn't know who to oppress. Eventually, he will become Voicist and be against all those with raspy voices or deep voices or something. I know I hate the Deepies.
What the heck does that mean?
shareSince you allege (in far too many of your posts) that he knows everything, ask your professor. On another note, I would love to know what school you attend just so I could audit this alleged genius professor's class and see if he is really that brilliant, or if you are just that ignorant.
