I love how his EX turned him into a vegan at the end of Super Size me..and he actually kept it up for a good while. That was 2004..to whenever they officially split? FF to 2017 and he has opened up his owned chicken restaurant..Complete with owning his own chicken farm. Gotta love how he throws them baby chickens on the ground by the case full and accidentally steps on them as he walks(killing them). Don't get me wrong...I am not a vegan..Just stating the obvious.
I thought the original Super Size Me was pretty disingenuous to begin with. The doctor told him his calorie count was around 5,000 a day but it's pretty hard to put 3 meals together from McDonalds and reach that count. He refused to release his food log to anyone inquiring and the only conclusion I can draw from that is he was really loading up on calories (while not exercising) to amplify his weight gain significantly. There was a pretty good documentary called Fat Head that explored this.
Yeah, I think supersize me doesn't hold up under ANY real scrutiny. He also highly embellished the response to eating that way. I thought it was assumed he was full of shit.
Seemed like it was designed to turn us off McDonalds but I do remember leaving the theater after seeing it and stopping for a QP w/cheese and fries on the way home.
Yep, Morgan Spurlock has essentially become the William Castle of documentary filmmaking. The fact that he chose to direct a One Direction documentary a couple years ago, says everything I need to know about him. The guy simply came up with a clever idea one time, and ran his whole career with it.
Thankfully, it seems like this shitty attempt of his to stay relevant hasn't really worked. As barely has anyone heard of this film, let alone seen it. I didn't even know it existed until you posted about it.
Yeah i didn't know it existed either until I saw it on Amazon prime. It's shit. He tried to be clever but failed miserably. Oh yeah the whole him opening up a fast food chicken restaurant was just for the documentary. The first comment I posted was like me 10 mins into this film.
i think ssm2 is a pretty clever way to promote his restaurant. afterall he just creates a new transparency halo, without being really transparent.
i also think he is fully aware emotions beat conciousness. so even if he tells some of his tricks, the mechanisms are still in process.
Could you have a better story told than a movie?
He is dead serious about making money with chicken burgers.
