People are sadists if they enjoy innocent people getting beat up

First of all, I am in no way trying shit on this movie for depictions of physical assault from the hands of bullies and abusive parents. This shit happened back in the 1970s when this movie took place and even way before then. I've even listened to the 1986 audiobook book of IT and the depictions of bullying and abusive parents from the 1950s era was also just as bad, but I'm just trying to make a point.

It takes a special kind psychotic masochist to enjoy this kind of shit because no normal human being with a functioning brain would like seeing this shit! It's one thing when there's justice involved or the victim who recieved the beating actually deserved it, but it's another if the damn writers don't give a shit and are just throwing whatever sticks to the wall, just to collect their paychecks, at the end of the day. Because why the fuck not!? Hollywood only cares about money. Not saying this movie has bad writing (well, it kinda does, to be fair) but how could anyone enjoy innocent kids being pummeled by older kids and adults? It's just not fun to watch. Even if this is a horror movie, the same cannot be said when slasher villains cut up their victims. At least to some degree, that is entertaining. Seeing kids getting pummeled is not, except for evil masochistics.
