Brad Pitt Getting an Oscar and Leo Getting F all is an embarrassment

I like Brad Pitt and i think he is perfectly cast in this. He even has a moment where he nearly steals the show in the big showdowN when he's on the LSD.

But let's get real for 90% of the film he is in Di Caprio's shadow whenever the two of them are together you are paying attention to Leo-
Pitt is just there nodding along. (Academy Award)

He looks fucking great in that shirt and sunglasses and hair and all that but fuck me Hannibal Lecter he is not. It' supposed to be the creme of the creme he's just Brad Pitt same as always the award if there should be one should be to QT for putting him in that outfit and making him super cool and framing him as he should always be.

Di Caprio is on another level to quote Jules 'it's not even the same fucking sport'

Well, there is a "rhythm" to these thing as a matter of "externals": Leo already had an Oscar(for The Revenant); Brad was "due."

And the Academy often has to wait for JUST the right role to turn up to get that actor an Oscar.

Example: Sean Connery. After creating his own superstardom as James Bond, he became a bankable star for the rest of his life..but never really getting (or accepting) a role with the "juice" to win an Oscar.

Until The Untouchables . The role wasn't particularly "deep," but it was serious and fun and sad in the end. So Sean won for that.

Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth is along those lines -- a big hero in a big movie -- a person the audience could look up to.

I agree this is probably Leo's all-time greatest performance. Brad Pitt, I've never cared for. He mugs in everything and this role wasn't that much different. This was 100% an example of writing getting the actor the Oscar, not the acting.

Brad got an Oscar for this film!

Yeah I know, and I've never understood it. Like I said, he won because he was in a good role, not because of his performance. Brad Pitt more or less does the same shtick in every film, this one was no different. He's the sexy guy who smolders in every film, except this time he won an Oscar for it.

Agree. On the merits, DiCaprio's performance was one for the ages. Who beat him out ? Joaqin Phoenix in Joker. Have to admit, I've never seen the film, but he must have been great.

I'm now going to watch 'The Two Popes', from that year.

Having seen both films I don't think DiCaprio was robbed in anyway. Both his and Phoenix's portrayals were fantastic.
