Why make Margot Robbie really prominent on the poster
And only give her a five minute scene where she shows off her feet in a movie theater? I thought she was gonna have a big role.

the whole film revolved around her. with events all building toward her 'murder'
shareYour right
sharethe whole film revolved around her. with events all building toward her 'murder'
She had everything to do with the other characters
shareNo sense trying to explain it to someone who doesn't want to listen.
shareShe had everything to do with the other characters
The story has many layers and everything hinges on her. Just watch it again and pay close attention.
shareShe's like the fair maiden who is protected from the dragons (Mansons) by the knights (booth/dalton)
shareThink of the ending where Rick Dalton goes through the gate leading to the house to meet Sharon and her friends and the implications it has for the future of all involved and the Hollywood scene in general. Then think about everything that was happening in the lives of the main characters leading up to that moment.
shareHave you ever seen the original poster for The Wizard of Oz (1939)? The Wizard is shown on it because the entire story revolves around him even though the story is about Dorthy.
Same here. The story revolves around Tate but it’s about Cliff and Rick.

A few things here I copied from things I posted elsewhere:
The hippie culture that was growing during the time was the exact opposite of Rick Dalton’s. Rick had negative opinions of hippies because of what that culture was doing to film. The director of Lancer in the film wanted Rick to wear a more “hippie” style cow boy outfit. Rick and also Cliff’s careers are fading because they refuse to change with the times. Rick looked at himself as a victim of hippie culture and that’s why he was aggressive against it.
Who’s career is moving up? Sharon Tate’s career is blossoming and if you notice in the film she gives the hippie girl a ride and takes her shoes off in the theater. All these things are clues. She is embracing the hippie culture that’s finding its way in to films
It’s just like how people hate all the SWJ stuff that’s in modern film today. If your old school you probably can’t stand it but if you grew up with these ideas you might embrace it.
Quentin is wanting you to languish in 60’s Hollywood and the day to day lives of the characters to set up the ending because it’s that way of life in Hollywood that’s preserved by the ending. Not only are the murders diverted saving lives and the careers of Dalton and a Booth but the Hollywood life as it was at that time is allowed to continue on. That entire vision of Hollywood that QT presents to the audience during the first 3/4 of the film is is essentially saved and is allowed to live on into the 70’s rather than taking a darker tone as we know it. Our heroes saved everyone at the Polanski / Tate house and Hollywood but who knows for how long. Hence Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
In the end when Rick walks through the gates and goes inside to meet Sharon and her friends he is going to be in with the “in” crowd. His career will continue on and he will probably become more accepting of the hippie culture because Sharon accepts it. You have to accept it to make it in Hollywood at the moment.
So you see the entire film hinges on Sharon Tate surviving to save Rick’s career and in effect, a way of life in Hollywood also.
Tarantino always writes scenes where hot women show their feet. He has a foot fetish.
shareAnd Margot has nice feet. I believe a lot of people like feet. I don't particularly care for them as a sexual or arousing something but I can imagine them being so to others.
shareYup, it's a pretty common fetish. Most of the people are just too ashamed to admit it, since it's more "normal" to lust over tits and ass. :)
shareThere a website dedicated to celeb's feet. Margot's section is huge: https://www.wikifeet.com/Margot_Robbie
