A Me Too twisted film


Gary Hart would have easily beat Bush in '88 had he used the Donna Rice photo (see link below) to his advantage. But he wimped out. Reminds me of what Segretti said about the fake story of Humphrey going out with call girls: "hey, if anything it helped the man's image"! But Clinton learned the lesson and easily won in '92, but of course the far right went after him anyway (while leaving there friends like donald alone).
I started to watch this film: way too Me Tooish, had to turn it off. Hint: the book was written by Matt Bai, so of course is skewed rightwing just like Chappaquiddick (though no film is quite as bad as that one!)

Me tooish? How so? It's a straight depiction of a story that happens to be true. That's not the same as a filmmaker taking a story and morphing it into a political statement. This just happened as depicted. It wasn't until years later that we were told about Donna's history of rape.
