Just finished watching s1. There was absolutely nothing suggesting that the coach had any sort of sexual relationship with Mackenzie. Nor was there anything to suggest that Mackenzie and Chrysta were particularly friends. Nada, zip, zero.
There was, however, a lot of motive for Chrysta to target the coach and the faculty, due to the school admin ignoring Chrysta’s complaint against the coach for whatever horrible thing he said to her after she was viciously and unnecessarily tackled during football practice. Just the tackling incident alone should have been enough to get the coach fired (the setting was California, after all, not Texas *cough*). And it did seem as though the coach said something very inappropriate to Chrysta after she took that violent hit (Chrysta refused to “repeat” it during her final interview), so that was another potential grounds for discipline the coach. But the admin did nothing, and then coach was named Teacher of the Year— the final insult to Chrysta that drove her to take revenge.
Chrysta’s boyfriend, Van, is the one whom the boys decided must have done the vandalism while Chrysta was inside, removing the security camera evidence from the computer system.
