The comedy was not funny and it’s what ruined the film ,if he was purely focus on the horror it could have been great and if it gave a better explanation to what was going on and what was going to happen.

shareI disagree, I think the comedy was fine, it’s not like it was used frequently or it undercut every scene with a joke or the tension was ruined because of a joke. We still got a really good horror/thriller film so i’d hardly say a few jokes ruined it. Can’t wait for Peele’s next film to be honest.
I just saw this with my friend and she said the same thing. I don’t get it, I like the comedy as it normalises the situation and that’s scarier to me than constant tension.
Peele lulls you into a false sense of security. Kinda like life.
The comedy was out of place. It just made the situation seem not as dire as it actually was. Very strange indeed. I liked the movie and the message. Very thought provoking for sure.
