The old guys at the barber shop still alive 30 years later??

They'd all be dead, yes. The movie is an abomination from top to bottom.

It might have been funnier if they were replaced with new characters using Murphy and Hall.

I also expected Cuba Gooding to be the guy getting his hair cut again like in the original.

Clean living??? Inhaling Jheri Curl fumes all day?? Huffing Soul Glo spray-on salve??

Yeah, they looked 65+ all day long in the original film, and Saul looked about 80. If still alive, the barbers would still be working at 95-100 and Saul would be on Good Morning America as a 110 year old guy still hanging around his favorite haunt.
