Parasite wins Best Film Cast award at SAG, Best Foreign film at Golden Globes

When five cast members from Parasite took the stage to introduce the film's nomination for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards Best Film Cast, the audience of actors greeted the South Koreans with a standing ovation. At the end of the show, they got another standing ovation, when it became the first foreign language film to ever win the SAG award for Best Film Cast.

EDIT: Parasite had previously won the Best Foreign film (not Best Director as I originally posted) award at the Golden Globe Awards.

It won Best Foreign film at Golden Globes not best Director, that went to Sam Mendes.

For me, I think Best Director and Best Foreign Film are realistic gets for Parasite. I think Oscar's will give best film to Tarantino's film. But it's amazing how well it's done in Award season.

You are correct. But Parasite and 1917 tied for Best Director at the Critics' Choice Awards.

The Producers Guild awards just gave 1917 the Best Picture award on Saturday. It's been a strong predictor for the Oscars Best Picture award.

Marvelous!

Despite what the live-to-complain-and-be-unimpressed naysayers on geek sites are saying (including this one hehe), the film is very deserving. Props to Joon-ho and the whole crew.

I think it has a good shot at winning best picture.

Though I've yet to see The Irishman, so far, I think it should, but I don't think it will. While The Irishman or 1917 could win, this year just feels like a make-up call or lifetime achievement type of thing for QT. I think OUATIH is far from his best, but it might be the one they reward.
