Bomb with a visual Timer on it, HAHAHAaa

Nolan is so overrated, did you guys see the bomb with the visual timer on it at the beginning? It even had the stereotypical 5:00 Minutes on it, that's the intellectual level of nolan in a nutshell. What a total shitfest

Countdown timers on bombs has always made me wonder what the hell the writer was thinking. Why in the hell would someone put a countdown timer on a bomb? If you are the person that build the bomb then you know how long the timer is set for when you build it. You also know once you turn it on you aren't going to stand around watching it, so why have a timer displaying? Is it supposed to be because every bomber in the world knows that someone might find the bomb and you want them to know if they have enough time to deactivate it or run like hell? If a bomber is going to put a timer on bombs I would like for them to be random so that the bomb doesn't go off when they hit zero.... hell add in a speaker and have the bomb just randomly say, "Did you think I was dumb enough to use a visual timer?" and then explode when ever anyone touched any part of the bomb.... at least use the stupid ass timers for some comedy.

hehe good point.

I don’t like Nolan, but it must be said here that movies aren’t real life.

reply

yes but nolan praises himself as being the new kubrick, but uses old movies cliches from the 90s

Goldfinger had a timer on its nuke, and that was from the 60’s. It’s also one of the most enjoyable movies ever made. Again, I really don’t care for Nolan films, but bomb timers are the least of his problems.

"nolan praises himself as being the new kubrick"

Really? I thought it was the fanboys.

this style mechanism solves a bunch of issues in movies for very good reasons. I'll leave it up to you to figure out why.

(because it is late and I dont feel like typing out all those reasons, when you dont have to bother with them by simply putting a timer on it)

reply

dont waste your time bro, the reasons are more than obvious, that's why they are chliche.

Isn't this the typical of most Hollywood movie tropes? Big ass timer to show the audience it's a badass number with a devastating consequences? Sure it's generic but you get used to those silly things by now.
