The tide will turn
Since the first wave of observers are disliking the film, the second wave will watch it with much lower expectations. It will help this film immensely in the long run.

shareWhat observers are we talking about? Last I looked it had an 82% on RT.
shareThe reviews are mixed almost everywhere. Average rating isn't as high as Nolan usually gets. But it's not death knell either by a long shot.
My point is: it's not being praised right out of the gate, and it will lead to lower expectations. People will watch it not expecting a masterpiece and later on the film will be considered to be much better than originally judged.
Or people may be put of by the average WOM and not go, especially with COVID. I was going to go but now im debating unless it gets some really good feedback. I mean, my cinema is showing Jurassic Park, Goodfellas, Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future etc
I can put my money on a guaranteed good time or something where maybe i'll enjoy it or maybe feel like ive wasted my time and money, but hey, I saw a Nolan film
