Hmm. I detest woke but I’m giving Nolan a pass here, the lead does a decent job but certainly lacks the charm of his dad - Denzel is one of the greatest movie stars ever. This guy is a bit bland and gets outshone by Pattinson and Branagh, but then the film sort of wants him to be a blank slate called ‘The Protagonist’.

Is a spy agency really going to send a heavily bearded black guy to infiltrate high society, including in overtly racist parts of the world? Well, it’s set in the future I guess.

My suspicion is that Nolan went for a token black lead to keep the woke mafia off his back after they crucified him for Dunkirk, and there may have been studio pressure. Denzel’s kid does a decent enough job so I’ll let it pass but I’m keeping an eye on Nolan.

Much more disturbing were the ads before the trailers - you could literally play ‘spot the white male’ - they’re like unicorns now. Blacks are 3% of the British population and they’re plastered front and centre of virtually every advert, with a support cast of browns and transsexuals, and maybe the odd white woman, but white males have been almost completely erased - and this is in white majority countries 🤦🏻‍♂️

Either the woke psychopaths behind this are oblivious to the white identitarian movement they’re creating, or they’re trying to provoke a race war. Either way, they’re racist pricks and I won’t be wasting my money on any company showing signs of wokeness.
