Overall it wasn't great but I also didn't think it was as bad as what many made it out to be. It works best as a fun family film that's aimed at kids. Robert Downey Jr. certainly made it watchable.
I don't understand the hate. The people bashing this movie don't seem to understand its aimed at small kids and is based on fantasy books series for children. I don't think 5 year olds are going to care if they used ADR, whether Downey sounds Welsh, or how realistic the CGI is.
It would be like giving a negative review of Hellraiser and complaining "the heavy use of profanity is not appropriate for preschoolers and why is there soooo much fake blood in this movie? They must have used gallons. Sheesh! Plus Andy Robinson's character could have been a lot nicer and more friendly!"
