Props are too accurate.

The prop department on this show is very excellent. The problem is they're using actual vintage goods. Which have aged by decades. And it shows on camera. It's cool they're using real stuff, but it does take you out of the story. If you're a nutter for detail like me.

Conversely, what always makes me nuts about period piece production is the cars. The cars are always mint condition right off the showroom floor. Because people restore these vehicles with a lot of time and money and love. But people back in the day, they beat the shit out of their cars same as they do now. They were all banged up and dirty. It's distracting, them driving around these car show cars everywhere.
