There is simply no excuse for it, this movie is FUCKING AWFUL.
Since Sarah Conner changed the future in Terminator 2, I could foresee an alternate future in which a supercomputer would still be created and kill John Conner. I agree that killing him wasn't the wisest thing to do, but what can you say? We all have to go sometime.
shareI didn't mind. John Connor's iconic, but even he can't live forever. I've known some folks who were pissed that T2 made Arnie the good guy, citing all the machines should've been evil. Well, he's going up against the T-1000. You'd really want to pit a human against that?
Plus, it shows that humanity as a whole can adapt. If one legend dies, they can find another person to lead them to victory. They're not putting all their eggs in one basket. John having died hitting on some girl, in Spanish, wasn't that bad of a way to go. He at least got to enjoy life as a normal kid for a year.
It would be like making THE SOUND OF MUSIC Part 2 and beginning by killing off all the Von Trapp children. Then what was the point of them escaping the Nazis in Part 1??

I have no attachment to John Connor and I think Ed Furlong gave one of the worst performances ever for a young actor in T2.
Still it would have been nice to see it without knowing that. My fault for looking at this thread I suppose, should have anticipated selfish people who think their opinion of the film is more important than spoiling it for others.
My opinion is THAT important, yes. Edward Furlong should've won a fucking OSCAR for his role in T2, and to be honest, I'm highly inclined to Ignore your fat ass as a result of what you said.

To be honest it’s the first time I’ve even noticed him. Meh, some people are just a bit too precious, I can’t say I really care about it that much. The Furlong deserves an Oscar thing did give me a chuckle, as did the fat ass thing. At a slight 65kg I can only laugh at that one 😂
shareI've never been that attached to John Connor as a character, but this just felt disrespectful and done only for shock value and as a way to introduce a new (female because it's "in" right now) protagonist. I also hated how apparently the future has all changed now and it's no long Sky Net oppressing humanity, but the Terminators all still look and act the same, it's almost like they didn't have any real imagination or vision for the movie and just wanted to throw in arbitrary twists to justify the changes they made to it.
