SPOILERS... The Killer

I'm seeing a lot of debate about who was the Clovehitch Killer. I thought I'd just try to toss in my two cents.

I don't think it was the uncle alone. At the very least the Dad was a partner. The basement was at the Dad's house. If the uncle was the bad guy, why did he have the basement all set up like that?

Remember the Dad is a huge lier. He lied all the way until he was bashed in the head with the lamp. He even lied to get the gun and then tried twice to kill the son. He is not a good person - He's evil. He had an out in his back pocket to blame the brother and used it. Again, dad lies to cover for himself. There is zero reason to think he wasn't lying about the uncle, who we never even hear about.

He clearly had done this before and had a ritual down. He knew what woman would live alone, followed her home, cased the house, even tied that knot for some reason. He had his act down to the wire and was calm and collected the entire time he was at the woman's house.

Here's what I think. The dad, after having a little girl, felt the heat was close or wanted to try to better himself after his brother died. It's not unusual - BTK waited eight years between killings.

Anyway, the dad had the nudie mags and pictures to take the tension off when he felt the urge. Don't forget the dad had that perv pic hidden in his truck. It was clear to me he had that there to go find a quiet spot to jerk off and clear his inhibitions. When his son told him to burn everything he lost his outlet and the cravings were waiting. He started by taking photos of himself to see if that would satisfy the cravings and it clearly didn't. So he instantly went back to what would scratch that itch.

I don't think the uncle had anything to do with it.

I also don't think the uncle had anything to do with it. If anything, the uncle found out so the father most likely tried to kill him to keep him from spilling the beans but turned him into a vegetable in the attempt.

^^ This ^^

I never considered the car accident being the father trying to silence the uncle though after finding out.
It's entirely possible and a good point.
