Fun, fan service film (minor spoilers)

It is entertaining, but I wouldn't even call it comic book film, more like a parody.

If Cassandra could be killed when she was reading someone's mind she would have died long time ago. And I hardly think she would have even a second hesitation to kill juggernaut and destroy his helmet.

Sling rings allow wizards to travel through space, not time, not jumping between timelines, that is already established in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", Dr Strange could not do that, only that Chavez girl can.

For that you need time stone (I wasn't even sure about that since Dr Strange had the time stone), or TVA.

The mask of wolverine is really lame. I guess so they could use more stunt doubles.

If though I liked the film, I was thinking why was it necessary to have Blade or Elektra or even Gambit in it? Having X-23 was a nod to Logan and she should have been used more. Otherwise up until the third act the film pretty much stays on the rails. Kind of reminds me in some ways of the first Wonder Woman movie in that it's good act one, good act two, nonsense act three decent ending. But this one's nonsense is a bit more entertaining.

I think blade reboot is just around the corner, and Elektra was there because the action party can't be a sausage fest.

Also the same reason Chris Evans was in it, nostalgia. Remember the good old days when Marvel movie scripts weren't commissioned by their DEI committee and written by the feminist brigade.

Just got canned and if Reynolds doesn’t have some success in pushing for WS blade … most likely will not happen ..

reply

True but they did X-23, already. Chris Evans was in it for misdirection because he played two Marvel characters. Maybe Blade was in it because Reynolds wanted to make peace with Wesley Snipes.

reply

I guess I forgot about X-23.

This is out on Blu Ray/DVD Now, but I have a feeling if I watch this again, it won't be as funny as it was watching it with an audience

reply

I watched it by myself and I feel it would have been more fun with an audience, but it was still very fun.

When you watch alone, especially again, you might pay attention and notice all the silliness.

For example, in the opening fight with TVA staffs, Deadpool was dancing to a tune. He was not invulnerable to TVA sticks, he saw the effect of it, his regenerative ability would mean nothing.

But he kept dancing, in the beginning I thought it was background music, but in the end it became clear he really was dancing.

I would have problems watching something this silly again.
