Wonder if it would've been in addition to the new 'team' of Elektra, Blade , Gambit, x23 or like instead of Gambit? (and had to get gambit instead)

My guess is he'd have been in addition to those .. (you can kind of picture him on fire riding alongside the car and then battling the likes of juggernaut, lady deathstrike with the chains and a few soul killer moves)

Bet he regrets not being involved now its broken 1b and universally loved (maybe he turned it down due to his cameo in The Flash which he was disappointed by, and sensed another bomb, esp as MCU seemed to be on the ropes abit?)

“Sensed another bomb?” You mean other than the one’s HE’S involved with? Yeah ok. Him turning this down was the height of stupidity.
