Surely they must know this movie is going to crash and burn. I just wonder why they do things they know the public is going to hate.

Most Disney projects are basically just trolling to anyone with common sense, baiting them to respond to the virtue signaling and the bitchy actors involved in each project.

Disney share price has been tanking, dropping from more than $190, the post endgame high, to about $110 now, during the same period S&P500 increased about 50%, and the CEO Bob Iger is still not removed, so they are willing to take a hit financially for social influence.

He probably thought most Disney investors don't watch movies, probably more into opera and theatre. I actually know guys like that.

I think for the elites it is the responsibility of the media to brainwash the masses. There are things more important than just money, apparently.

Yes it does have something to do with skin color and sexual orientation. One of the main reasons for their movies sucking for the past few years is the addition of woke ideological signaling.

Even you would know not only they were hiring actors base on DEI principles, they were also hiring writers and directors the same way.

I DISAGREE....I HAVE NOT HAD ISSUE WITH ANY ACTORS OR DIRECTORS/WRITERS SKILL....HOWEVER...DISNEY LIKE ALL STUDIOS HAS GOTTEN LAZY WITH THEIR PRODUCT....AND IN FACT WHAT THAT PRODUCT IS HAS CHNGED AS HOW PEOPLE DIGEST MOVIES HAS CHANGED.

The movie might not "crash and burn" financially, because a lot of people will take their kids to see it. It will, however, be a crap movie because of the bad casting of the lead actress, the modern feminist bullshit, and the bizarre CGI dwarfs.

Because Disney is now a woke looney bin run by the inmates. Disney supposedly has 200B in assets (most not in cash presumably), so maybe they think they can tread water long enough in order to institute what they believe to be worthy social change through their movie efforts.

Well, there's been talk about the studio execs getting worried behind the scenes. Several want to replace Iger and clean out the joint, others want to keep things the way they are. I think they're starting to realize that the bulk of their money was not coming from investors trying to push Marxist BS, but from the customers, and most sane businesses do not alienate over half their paying customers. But then again, Disney (and a number of other movie studios) haven't been sane since the early 2010s.

Walt Disney rolls in his grave so frequently nowadays that his corpse now just spins, and its spinning powers up the electricity in all the Disney Parks. Every time his company commits a new atrocity, he changes direction in his spinning, which these days tends to happen on a regular basis.
